Guess the year. Travel through time.

Eraly is a free daily history game you play right in your browser. Each day brings 8 moments from history, like "Mount Vesuvius buries Pompeii" or "Facebook is launched". Type the year you think it happened. The closer your guess, the further Tick the clockwork robot walks along the road through time, from the Ancient world all the way to the Digital age.

Everyone gets the same 8 moments each day, and a new journey starts at your own midnight. Want more? Switch to Unlimited for a fresh set of 8 moments whenever you like.

How to play

• 8 moments from history per journey, one guess each
• 30 seconds on the clock per moment, with a short hint to help
• Type a year (AD) and press Enter. After each guess you see the real year and a fun fact
• Your points move Tick along a road through six eras: Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, Industrial, Modern and Digital. A perfect 800 reaches today

Scoring

• Exact: 100 points
• Close (within 5 years): 85 points
• Near (within 20 years): 60 points
• Rough (within 50 years): 30 points
• Far off: 10 points for any other guess
• Out of time: 0 points

Older moments are more forgiving: the windows above are for events of the last fifty years and grow wider the further back you go, so a guess about ancient Rome gets far more slack than one about the 1990s.
